What does it all mean?

I vividly remember back when I started my meditation journey, via my wonderful Kinesiologist in Coogee, I went home and closed my eyes and had this EXACT vision (from the picture in this post). It was like my eyes were open, the vision was so clear and it’s stayed with me ever since.

That was over eight years ago and I still don’t know what it means! I haven’t moved to Canada, and I’ve never really seen this kind of mirrored lake outside of photos on the internet. Nevertheless, it was a lovely moment and one that I will never forget. My kinesiologist actually told me that people meditate their whole lives to have a vision like this, and I managed to strike gold and see something on my first attempt. Yay.. but what does it all mean?

I could cut this short and say I don’t know, because in all honesty I have no idea what that vision means. It was just very vivid that’s all. And maybe one day Nic and I will move there and I will go.. Oh! I’m home. You just never know.

Which brings me to this. Following our dreams, and what happens when we use our intuition to make our way through life instead of our active thoughts.

Admittedly, I’m someone who in the past has done the opposite of following my intuition, and I’ve been very rash and quick in making major life decisions. However, luckily I’m also someone who learns from my mistakes, even when I dive in head first to every situation without much thought on the impact it may have on myself or those around me.

So what's the difference between following our thoughts and using our intuition?

There are five functions of the mind, which we go through in the 1 Giant Mind 3-Day Learn Meditation course that we teach, and the second function is called Intuitive Perception.

When we learn to meditate using this technique, we rapidly expand our self-awareness, and we learn to respond to situations rather than react to them in a predisposed way. Instead of trying to fix thoughts with thoughts, which is like trying to wash yourself in muddy water, we learn to take a step back and use our intuitive perception instead.

A twice daily practice of meditation can give you access to parts of the mind you may have not been using before, and it turns out life becomes a whole lot easier when you do. I’ve used this technique to help me find jobs, move interstate, and I even found a nice bakery in Bellingen following my gut!

So, if you find yourself going around in circles inside your mind, and you are reacting to stressful situations in the same way, why not try meditation and see where it leads you?

It may just surprise you, and like me, you may find life becomes a whole lot easier when you do.
